The stats from the walk I did on 7th March.

Here are a few details and the stats from the walk I did on Monday 7th March.
I didn’t do this as a circular walk as I was able to get dropped off by my mum but it wouldn’t be hard to make a circular walk with a little modification to maybe the starting point. My start point was at grid reference SK 305 656 there is room to park your car off the road at the junction at grid reference SK 305 654 although I would prefer somewhere less exposed myself.
There is a café and a pub in Beeley, the café is closed on Wednesdays there is also a cafe at Edensor, I didn’t get any details for that one.
The part of this walk I enjoyed the most was the walk down through the woods from Beeley Moor to Beeley village. The main route for this walk was to stay along the top of the village but I followed the stream in to the village which is at a lower level and this brings you to the square where the pub and café is. It’s just a matter then of walking up the main road a few metres and joining the direct route by the church.
Here is the map of the route I took.
[Clicking on the pics should enlarge them]

Here is the profile and some of the stats. My overall walking average speed for this walk was 1.6 mph. I blamed this low average last time on the weather, on this occasion I blame it on there being lots of interesting things to stop and look at because this figure takes in to account the stoppage time.

Walking again.

Hello everyone. As its a nice day and I am on holiday I have gone walking again. Sorry there have been no live updates today but I haven't had a signal on my phone. At the moment I am at a place called Alport Castles where its nice and sunny but a freezing cold wind. I am just having a coffee and then heading off along the ridge to Lockerbrook Farm.

Holy cow, it just blew my coffee away! I think it blew the signal away too cos I ain't got one now. How can you have 5 bars one minute and then nothing?

Destination.

Destination in sight. The village of Rowsley.

Calton Pastures.

Just before the farm at Ball Cross I am turning left to walk over Calton Pastures. I'm aiming for a corner of the Manners Wood where I will find a path throught the woods to Rowesly which is to be the end of this walk.

Across fields.

After leaving Beeley I am going to cross the fields to Chatsworth Park. There is a café at Beeley but I didn't visit. They are closed on Wednesday's

Entering Beeley.

I'm just entering Beeley Village. The most direct route through to where I'm going is straight on but I'm turning left just along here and following the stream into the square.

Muddy lane.

This is the muddy lane on leaving the woods. It was a nice walk through the woods with the sound of a stream for company all the way.

I am now leaving the moor and dropping down through woods from Hell Bank into Beeley. Just got pipped at by some guys in a van.

Where did you go?

Good day everyone, I hope you are all feeling well. I'm sorry for my absence of late but unfortunately I have not been so well. I was helping cut back some Ivy growing on a wall at work and the wind went and blew some of the grit from the wall in to my eye, in fact it felt like it blew a whole stone in there. Anyway after stupidly rubbing it in to my eyeball I was taken to the hospital where they kissed it better for me but I have been barred from computers and reading and stuff like that for a while but now it is better so hopefully I will be out walking again very soon. Anyway this blog isn't supposed to be about my boring personal life but I just thought I would let anyone who was wondering, know why I disappeared.
